Kelly Bocchetti Millar
Kelly was a Ballet Mistress for the Delaware Ballet for 7 years and now is serving her fourth year as Ballet Mistress for Maxine’s Studio of Dance. Kelly is a 2001 graduate of the University of Delaware with a B.S. in Human Services, Education and Public Policy. Raised in Elmer, NJ and now lives in Milford DE with her husband Jason and son Owen. She started dance training at the age of nine under the direction of Maxine and Kimberly Chapman.
She was a soloist member of the Vineland Regional Dance Company from 1992 – 1997 and danced lead roles including three years as the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker Ballet. As a dancer with Regional Dance America Northeast (RDA/NE), Ms. Millar traveled the United States, performing for their annual Festivals. She attended the prestigious Juilliard School in New York in 1996 as one of 40 students to receive a scholarship to the first Juilliard Summer Dance Program. Ms. Millar was a performer and assistant coach for the University of Delaware Dance Team, has taught at Polytech High School and the Central Delaware Dance Academy. She is also the president of Dance Delaware and the Director for the annual Delaware Dance Festivals.
Kelly has returned back to the VRDC and Maxine’s Studio of Dance as a choreographer, guest artist, master teacher and ballet mistress. She choreographed Pride Land in 2007, has created “Release” for the 2008-09 season, Tres Para Once for 2009, “From Time To Eternity” for 2011 and “Synesthesia” for 2012.
